Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a transportation aide under direct supervision to move patients, specimens, equipment and supplies throughout the Medical Center. This role supports nursing units by managing wheelchair, stretcher and bed inventory and ensuring safe, timely transport.

A High School diploma or GED is required; CPR (Heart Saver) within 30 days of start. The position requires physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds and teamwork to serve patients with dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Heart Saver CPR certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and supplies throughout the Medical Center.
• Assists in lifting or placing patients onto transport conveyances and ensures patient dignity and privacy.
• Maintains cleanliness of stretchers and transport equipment.
• Transports and locates equipment, specimens, and supplies to designated areas.
