Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver seeks a leader to manage patient meal services within the Culinary Service department. You will partner with nursing, train staff in therapeutic diets, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory guidelines.

The role oversees daily operations, drives quality initiatives, staffing, and cost-efficient service delivery while delivering exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Service, Dietetics, Nutrition or Management.
• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration within 6 months of hire.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (Utah and Idaho only).
• ServSafe certification within 90 days if not current.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of patient meal services.
• Partners with nursing to educate and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Leads patient meal areas and trains in therapeutic diets.
• Ensures diets are followed per provider orders.
• Implements clinical best practices to deliver care at appropriate cost.
• Provides value-based leadership in accountable teams.
• Manages HR functions: hiring, training, mentoring, discipline, termination.
• Ensures food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Monitors quality and satisfaction scores; plans improvements.
• Communicates nutrition expertise with healthcare providers.
