Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a maintenance technician to manage preventive maintenance and repairs for hospital facilities in Louisiana. You will work on general inspections and fix electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items across hospital and clinic environments.

The role requires at least 2 years in Commercial, Industrial, or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program, with a valid driver’s license and ability to respond to emergencies. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Experience with hand and power tools in industrial or hospital settings.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R and carpentry basics.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed with the ability to handle emergencies.
• Willingness to work on-call and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Follows up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working appropriately.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems, such as nurse call, fire alarm, television, medical gas, and ceiling systems.
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections in accordance to scheduled checkpoints and maintains documentation appropriately.
• Assists with any maintenance on associated equipment within assigned area(s).
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Assists other Hospital and Clinic departments with daily maintenance and support services as needed.
