Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a maintenance technician to perform inspections, troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within hospital settings.

You will respond to and fix specialty systems such as nurse call and fire alarm, carry out preventive maintenance, and support other departments with daily facilities tasks. Must be able to handle indoor/outdoor work and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Perform general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items.
• Follow up on assignments to ensure equipment is working.
• Respond to and repair specialty systems like nurse call, fire alarm, TV, medical gas, ceiling systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and document properly.
• Assist with maintenance on equipment in assigned areas.
• Work onsite during severe weather or disaster as required.
