Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician to service and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems across hospital and clinic environments.

The role requires 2 years in maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, and carpentry. On-call work and emergencies are possible, with adherence to building codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade school or company school preferred.
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
• Experience with a wide range of skilled crafts including plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Perform general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Follow up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working properly.
• Respond to and repair specialty systems such as nurse call, fire alarm, television, medical gas, and ceiling systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and maintain documentation.
