Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a qualified hospital maintenance technician to perform inspections, troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems across departments. The role requires hands-on skills, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work on-call during emergencies.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license. Healthcare familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Required - High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Follows up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working appropriately.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems such as nurse call, fire alarm, television, medical gas, and ceiling systems.
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections per schedule and maintains documentation.
• Assists with maintenance on associated equipment within assigned areas.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Assists other departments with daily maintenance and support services as needed.
