Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Supervisor to lead technical and non-technical staff, oversee regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement initiatives. You will monitor resources, mentor staff, and participate in hiring to build a strong laboratory team.

The role requires an associate degree in science/medical technology (or higher), 5 years of MT experience, and a Florida supervisor license or ability to obtain one during the interview process.

Qualifications

• 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science or Medical Technology is required.
• 4-Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology is helpful.
• State of Florida Supervisor’s License or ability to obtain one during the interview.
• 5 years’ experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Prior supervisory experience is beneficial.
• Licensure in 3 technical specialties preferred.
• CAP experience in Hematology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory personnel and assign areas/shifts.
• Oversee processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance across department.
• Develop monitoring systems for quality assessment and improvement data and take corrective actions.
• Monitor resource utilization including payroll, supplies, and expenses; review reports.
• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and talent development for staff.
• Screen, interview, and select qualified individuals for open positions within the department.
