Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks a Lab Supervisor to manage the technical sections, supervise staff, and ensure quality control and improvement across the laboratory operations.

The role requires a Medical Technology bachelor degree (or science with 5 years as a Med Tech), AHCA training, and licensure eligibility. Supervisory experience is preferred; ASCP is desirable. The position includes administrative duties and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology; Or a Bachelor Degree in a physical, chemical or biological science and 5 years experience/training as a Med Technol.
• 90 semester hours of science and completion of an AHCA approved training program.
• Minimum of five years experience as a Medical Technologist is required of which one year in a lead or supervisory position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise and support for hospital laboratories.
• Provides direct technical supervision to technical staff.
• Oversees quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement activities for the technical section(s).
• Performs administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by manager.
