Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across hospital plant equipment and building systems. The role requires blueprint literacy, computer proficiency for CMMS/BAS, and solid troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities include on-demand work, safety compliance, and collaborative communication with staff and leadership. Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of commercial/industrial

Qualifications

• Blueprints reading and interpretation.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software for work orders and documentation.
• Knowledge of CMMS and BAS systems is required.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to facility needs to minimize risk and service interruptions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders within established timeframes.
• Monitor building envelopes and grounds for maintenance issues and report problems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot utility systems including boiler, chiller, ventilation, and life-safety systems.
• Document tasks and time spent; communicate effectively with customers and leadership.
• Understand cooling towers, water treatment, air filters, and system operations; perform carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing tasks as needed.
