Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across hospital facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing building systems, and ensuring safe, uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires reading blueprints, computer and CMMS/BAS proficiency, and the ability to work independently. The position entails alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and on-site work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 years of documented commercial/industrial maintenance experience or healthcare pathway with MEC/H certification.
• Active M.E.C.H. Certification or equivalent certifications per FMES director guidance.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to facility needs to minimize risk and service interruptions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders within scheduled timeframes.
• Monitor building systems (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, life-safety, energy management) for issues.
• Troubleshoot and maintain hospital equipment, boiler/chiller plants, ventilation, fire protection, and related systems.
• Document tasks thoroughly and communicate with customers, peers, and leadership.
