Job summary

Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center – Harvard, IL is seeking a Healthcare Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building facilities and plant equipment. This role requires reading blueprints and using computer systems, with alternating shifts, including weekends and on-call duties.

Ideal candidates have 6 years of commercial/industrial maintenance experience or 2 years healthcare experience with MEC certification, plus relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 6 years of documented commercial/industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to read blueprints and use a computer
• Knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and life safety

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to facility needs to minimize safety risks and service interruptions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders on equipment and buildings.
• Monitor building utilities, boilers, chillers, ventilation, fire protection, and energy management systems.
• Document tasks with time details and communicate clearly with staff and leadership.
