Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's care network seeks a Hospice Director of Operations to lead the care center's clinical, regulatory, and financial performance. You will partner with clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centered hospice services and drive growth through effective operations and compliance.

You will shape staffing, training, and reimbursement processes, manage budgets, and collaborate with physicians, staff, and executives to deliver compassionate care across the service area.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinician or administrator with relevant healthcare background.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory/administrative hospice experience.
• Experience in health service administration.
• Valid driver's license, liability insurance and reliable vehicle.
• CPR certification if licensed healthcare professional.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice regulatory compliance and proper reimbursement handling.
• Educate staff on state/federal rules and accrediting standards.
• Maintain communication with the care center and branch sites.
• Liaise between governing body, staff, patients and physicians.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation and staffing.
• Decide employment actions for direct report staff and monitor performance.
• Manage billing to correct payors and support marketing plans.
• Travel within service area to supervise staff and attend meetings.
