Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Nashville, TN is seeking a Director of Operations Hospice to lead the care center's organizational, clinical, and financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality, patient-centered hospice care. You will partner with clinical leadership to drive business development and performance improvement initiatives.

You will oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance, and travel as needed to supervise sites within the service area.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician, registered nurse or an individual holding a bachelor’s or associate degree.
• Current CPR certification applicable if licensed healthcare professional.
• 1+ year supervisory or administrative experience in hospice or a related health care program.
• Experience in health service administration.
• Current driver’s license, required liability insurance and reliable automobile transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care center’s compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and reimbursement rules.
• Educate staff on state and federal rules and accrediting body standards.
• Maintain ongoing communication with care center and branch sites.
• Act as liaison between governing body, staff, patients, physicians and other providers.
• Assist branch directors in resolving complaints and investigate issues.
• Determine medical records for utilization review with medical director.
• Ensure services are billed to proper payor sources.
• Contribute to marketing plans to support growth goals.
• Recruit, hire, orient, train, assign and evaluate staff.
• Make employment decisions for direct reports and monitor performance.
• Travel within service area to supervise staff and participate in meetings.
