Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, a member of the Optum family, is seeking a dedicated CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on end-of-life care to patients at home and support for their families. You will assist with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being within the care plan.

As part of the hospice care team, you will perform personal care tasks, observe patient status, and document changes for the nurse.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA)
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to assist with ambulation, transferring, ROM and positioning
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and environmental services
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient's status
• Follows written care instructions from a registered nurse
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises
• Performs and records simple urine tests
• Other duties as assigned
