Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support for their families during end-of-life care. You will assist with daily living activities, promote comfort and dignity, and work with the hospice care team to ensure care aligns with each patient’s plan.

Responsibilities include personal care, safety and body mechanics, meal assistance, homemaking, and documenting changes in patient status.

Qualifications

• Current state CNA certification/registration as per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Preferred: CNA experience within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to personal and supportive care tasks such as ambulation, transfers, ROM and positioning, and household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
