Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support for families during end-of-life care. You will assist with daily living activities, promote comfort and dignity, and work closely with the hospice team according to the care plan.

Responsibilities include personal care, meals, homemaking, and documenting status changes, while following nurse instructions.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) as per state certification/registration requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• CNA experience within the last 2 years (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to personal and supportive care such as ambulation, transferring, ROM, positioning, and household chores
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient's status; reports to the primary nurse as needed
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned
