Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care for patients in a home setting. You will support families during end-of-life care, assisting with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being per the care plan.

Join a hospice care team, follow RN instructions, perform basic clinical tasks, and help ensure respectful, individualized care.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification/registration as per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics for activities such as ambulation, transfers, positioning, and light household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status and reports to the primary nurse if tasks cannot be performed.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
