Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on end-of-life care in patients' homes. You’ll work with the hospice care team to maintain dignity and comfort per the care plan, while supporting families with emotional and practical needs.

Requirements include CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Experience of 2+ years as a CNA is preferred. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Current state CNA certification or registration.
• CPR certification valid.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Minimum 2 years CNA experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care tasks (ambulation, transfers, positioning, household chores).
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports and documents changes in patient status; notify primary nurse if unable to perform tasks.
• Follow written instructions for personal care from a registered nurse per care plan.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
