Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to deliver compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support to families during end-of-life care in a Home Health setting. You will work closely with the hospice care team to ensure comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being according to the care plan.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, observing patient status, and following nurse-directed instructions.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• CNA experience within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and body mechanics during personal care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follows written instructions for personal care as outlined by the nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises and simple tests as directed by staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
