Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on support to patients and families during end-of-life care. You will work with a hospice team to ensure dignified, individualized care in line with the care plan.

You will perform personal care, meals, home tasks, and observe patient status while documenting changes for the nurse. Valid CNA and CPR credentials, a valid driver's license, and transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current state certification as CNA per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to patients.
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics in care tasks.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding.
• Perform homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observe and report changes in patient status to nurse.
• Follow written care instructions from RN.
• Assist with prescribed exercises as directed by nurse/therapist.
• Perform and record simple urine tests as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
