Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support for families during end-of-life care at home. You will work with the hospice team to ensure respectful, individualized care according to the plan of care.

The role emphasizes comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being, with duties ranging from personal care and safety to documentation and communication with the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current state CNA certification and registration as required by the state.
• CPR certification in good standing.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care and transfers.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient's status to the nurse.
• Follows written care instructions from a registered nurse.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as directed.
• Documents simple urine tests as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
