Job summary

Amedisys Hospice is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and support for their families during end-of-life care in the Nashua area. You will assist with daily living activities, promote comfort and dignity, and work closely with the hospice care team to ensure individualized care per the care plan.

Primary responsibilities include personal care, nutrition, homemaking, status observation, and adherence to nurse instructions.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) as per state certification/registration requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics in personal and supportive care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient's status; report to nurse if needed.
• Follows written instructions for personal care from a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and documents simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
