James River Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Full Time Hospice Team Assistant to support the interdisciplinary team with scheduling, documentation, and coordinated administrative tasks. This on-site role ensures clinical staff stay focused on patient care while maintaining organized office processes.

The position includes daily administrative duties, HIPAA-compliant handling of records, and collaboration with nurses, social workers, and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare admin education preferred.
• Experience in hospice, home health, healthcare admin, or medical office is beneficial.
• Knowledge of hospice operations and terminology helpful.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily administrative support to the hospice clinical team.
• Ensures office coverage during business hours.
• Answers phones, greets visitors, and generates correspondence.
• Coordinates patient visit schedules and communicates changes to team members.
• Tracks visits, documentation, orders, and certifications and notifies relevant staff.
