Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to clear construction sites and prepare runways and roads.

You will train for Basic and Advanced Individual Training, earn tuition assistance, and receive a monthly paycheck along with Montgomery GI Bill benefits. This role offers hands-on field work and potential civilian career paths in construction and engineering.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate and maintain heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to level earth and prepare runways/roads.
• Willingness to perform outdoor, physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment.
• Level earth for runways and roadbeds; clear, excavate and spread fill material.
• Assist in combat engineer missions as required.
