DC Army National Guard seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to clear sites for construction. Training includes nine weeks of Basic Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Responsibilities include leveling earth for runways and roadbeds, digging areas, moving materials with cranes, and supporting combat engineer missions. Benefits and drill-based pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Age 17–35, high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information on grade stakes and place them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
