Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to clear sites for roads, runways and buildings. You will level earth, excavate, move materials, and assist in combat engineer missions as part of a dedicated team.

Training includes nine weeks of Basic Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training; you will earn a regular paycheck, qualify for tuition assistance, and gain skills for civilian construction

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

• Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
