Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join our growing team. You will set up home medical equipment (ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP units, monitors) and educate patients on proper usage of prescribed devices.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, literature reviews to determine treatments, and maintaining patient records per accreditation standards. On-call after hours and weekends may apply, with mileage reimbursement for travel.

Qualifications

• CRTs or RRTs qualify; RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs or other clinicians may qualify depending on state law.
• Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state/national board.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle; mileage reimbursement provided.
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation; good communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and educate patients on home medical equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, ventilators).
• Inspect, test, and adjust equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Review prescriptions/patient information to determine proper treatment per physician orders.
• Maintain complete, organized patient records per accreditation standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and concepts.
• Be on-call after hours and weekends as needed; frequency depends on center size.
