Job summary

Lowe’s in New Jersey is seeking a Sales Specialist who helps customers find the right products and turns home improvement ideas into reality. You’ll interact with customers throughout the store, discuss project needs, and guide them to the best solutions.

You’ll become a product expert, sharing specifications, promotions, and financing options to complete sales. Day-to-day involves assisting customers, answering questions, and informing them about services and installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of customer-facing sales experience or Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years external sales if no Lowe’s experience).
• 1 year of sales or customer service in a sales environment with goals/metrics.
• Able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Minimum lifting of 25 lbs unassisted (or more with aid).
• Obtain sales-related licensure/registration if required by state (Lowe’s will support).

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by understanding customer needs and communicating benefits of Lowe’s products and services.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within the department, including estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking orders, and following up for project completion.
• In Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales.
• Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors/stores to find merchandise and replacements.
• Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation.
• Support checkout functions and store communications.
• Train associates in the department and coach on development needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
