Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled home health care under a supervising physical therapist. You will implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence, while promoting safety at home.

You will collaborate with patients, caregivers, and the care team to support recovery and enhance quality of life in the home setting.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Minimum of one year related PTA experience in home health; if less, regional mentoring required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed PT.
• Observe and document patient responses and report changes to the supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Promote wellness and prevention; provide resources for future needs.
• Document supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
