Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled care in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will carry out individualized treatment plans that improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence while promoting safety.

In partnership with patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team, you'll support recovery and enhance quality of life at home.

Qualifications

• Graduated from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current licensure to practice as PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ year home health PTA experience or regional mentoring approval if less than 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services under supervision of a licensed PT in patients' homes.
• Observe, record and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT.
• Promote wellness and prevention; document activities in the patient record.
• Coordinate follow-up care with agencies and other care providers.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and participate in care conferences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
