Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Illinois Home Health team is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patients at home under supervision of a PT. You will perform prescribed exercises, assist with mobility, and coordinate care with the health team.

The role requires a state-licensed PTA, a valid driver's license, weekend availability, and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed to assist in physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring and mobility assistance.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and supervise PT treatment plans; perform only qualified procedures and suggest changes to the supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in exercises, re-education, gait, ADLs, transfers and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health care team.
• Educate patients and caregivers in therapy within the scope of the PTA.
• Function effectively in all home settings regardless of patient demographics.
