Job summary

Caretenders, a part of LHC Group, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients with therapy under a supervising PT. You’ll educate patients and families and help improve well-being according to the care plan.

Responsibilities include following state laws, conducting active and passive exercises, and coordinating with the healthcare team to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in any home setting regardless of client background.
• Availability to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and implement PT plan of care as supervised.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercises, gait, and functional training.
• Observe and report patient responses, coordinate with PT, nurses and physicians.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy activities within the plan of care.
