Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled home health care under a licensed PT. You will help improve mobility, balance and independence at patients' homes, coordinating with caregivers and an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include CAPTE-accredited PTA education, an active PTA license, CPR certification, and 1+ years in home health or willingness to be mentored for less experience. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current license to practice as a PTA (state specified).
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PT assistant home health experience preferred.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness.
• Documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, audits and QA activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations with coordinating agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
