Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will deliver skilled treatments to improve mobility, strength, balance and independence while ensuring safety and quality care in home settings.

Required qualifications include an active PTA license in the assigned state, CAPTE-accredited education, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in the state you’re assigned to work in.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year related physical therapy experience in home health or willingness to be mentored if less than one year.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Documents supervisory activities and patient progress in medical records.
• Participates in care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and coordinates follow-up care.
