Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction to improve patients’ well-being within a home care plan of care. You’ll work alongside supervising PTs and care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered therapy in diverse home settings.

Responsibilities include patient education, gait and mobility training, and adherence to state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Following all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, following the plan of care as defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and coordinates care with the health care team
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in therapy within the scope of the PTA
• Functioning in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition
