Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, part of the Optum/ LHC Group family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care.

You will follow state laws, assist with active and passive exercise, document responses, and coordinate with the health care team. Weekend rotation required; current PTA license, valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, CPR preferred or within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, and functional training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health care team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and health care team in therapy methods within PTA scope.
• Function in home care settings regardless of patient demographics.
