Job summary

At Home Healthcare, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to implement treatment plans and educate patients to enhance wellbeing in a home care setting. You will follow the plan of care established by the supervising PT and coordinate with the broader care team.

Responsibilities include instructing patients in exercises, observing responses, and adapting care to diverse home environments while complying with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and adhere to the supervising PT’s plan.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members within PTA scope.
• Function effectively in home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
