Job summary

Elite Home Health, part of the LHC Group within the Optum family, is hiring a Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant. The PTA will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve well-being under the plan of care.

Primary responsibilities include adhering to state PT laws, guiding patients through exercises, observing responses, and coordinating with the care team. A current PTA license and driving access are required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing home care physical therapy and adhere to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, gait, functional activities, transfer, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment, coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the scope of the PTA.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and with all individuals.
