Job summary

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Integrated Advising Collaborative (IAC) Student Success Advisors are key members of a student-centered advising team, partnering with Co-op & Career Advisors and Faculty Advisors to provide proactive, holistic support that connects academic planning, personal development, and career readiness throughout the student lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in academic advising or student support.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborationskills.
• Commitment to working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group advising on academic planning, degree requirements, policies, and registration.
• Support students in developing and maintaining academic plans aligned with timely graduation.
• Coach students in study skills, time management, decision-making, and self-advocacy.
• Assist students in navigating transitions, including first-year adjustment, major exploration, and academic challenges.
• Monitor academic progress and identify students in need of additional support.
• Provide outreach in response to alerts, progress reports, and advising triggers.
• Support students on academic probation through structured intervention plans and ongoing coaching.
• Connect students with campus resources including tutoring, accessibility services, and wellness support.
• First Year: support transition and engagement; Second Year: co-op readiness; Third Year: progression; Fourth Year: degree completion and career planning.
