Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Student Ready Advisor to provide holistic academic advising, career planning, and personal development guidance to college students. The role supports progression, retention, and completion and may involve supervising a small team of advisors and staff.

Responsibilities include advising via in-person/virtual/phone/email, helping students select courses, and monitoring progress while leveraging campus resources for student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience working with college students in an academic advising or coaching capacity or ten (10) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of high-impact advising practices and university policies.
• Ability to track student progress and utilize appropriate resources.

Responsibilities

• Conducts holistic academic advising and coaching for current and prospective at-promise student populations via multiple modalities.
• Guides on degree requirements and course selection to achieve educational and career goals.
• Maintains a caseload and analyzes student data, transcripts, and placement results.
• Uses information systems to prepare reports and track outcomes.
