Job summary

Lakewood Health System is seeking a Home Medical Equipment Coordinator to ensure patients receive exceptional service and high-quality equipment. The role involves coordinating intake, insurance authorizations, order processing, and follow-up communications with providers and teams.

The position includes scheduling therapeutic shoe fittings, documenting visits, and supporting retail store operations while maintaining patient-centered care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience with home medical equipment.
• Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong internal and external customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient intake, insurance authorizations, order processing and follow-up communications.
• Maintain accurate documentation and insurance claims.
• Educate patients on safe and effective use of therapeutic footwear.
• Support retail store operations while maintaining professionalism.
• Monitor shoe break-in progress and troubleshoot fit concerns.
