Job summary

Lakewood Health System is seeking a Home Medical Equipment Coordinator to ensure patients receive exceptional service and high-quality equipment. The role involves coordinating intake, insurance authorizations, order processing, and follow-up communications with providers and teams.

The position includes scheduling therapeutic shoe fittings, documenting visits, and supporting retail store operations while maintaining patient-centered care and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

This role requires strong knowledge of medical equipment, including patient therapeutic footwear, and supplies to educate patients on safe and effective use. The coordinator ensures accurate documentation and insurance claims, collaborates with providers and internal teams, and supports retail store operations while maintaining professionalism, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach.The Therapeutic Shoe Fitting Role includes:Complete required office visit and foot-screening documentation for therapeutic footwear.Schedule and complete therapeutic shoe fittings and consultations; troubleshoot fit concerns and monitor patient progress during the shoe break-in period.Complete CFT certification within six months of hire and maintain certification as required.Position TypeThis is a full-time position, working 72 hours every two weeks between 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and as assigned.Ideal CandidateExperience with home medical equipmentExperience in a healthcare settingDesire to work as part of a high-functioning teamRespect for confidentiality and professional integrityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong internal and external customer service skillsBenefitsLakewood Health System is growing and looking for great people to join our mission of providing personalized, quality healthcare for a lifetime.
