Job summary

UVA Health seeks an Ambulatory Program Assistant Coordinator to help newly established HIV patients enter care and access Ryan White resources in Virginia. You will collaborate with the care team to ensure coordinated services and compassionate patient support.

After onboarding, there may be an opportunity to work remotely one day per week in a highly collaborative specialty environment that values professionalism and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years clinical experience.
• Licensure: BLS certification; medical assistant certs or EMT/Paramedic per VA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet with newly established HIV patients and help them navigate the process of entering care.
• Assess socioeconomic needs and identify appropriate case management support.
• Assist patients with Ryan White Program eligibility and enrollment.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurse coordinators, and other care team members to support access to treatment and services.
• Serve as a knowledgeable, patient-facing representative of the Ryan White Program.
• Help connect patients throughout Virginia with resources that support continuity of care.
• Contribute to a culture centered on collaboration, transparency, open communication, and excellent patient care.
