Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks an Integration and Test Engineer with a strong software focus for the Maneuver Dominance team at the Costa Mesa HQ to build, scale and operate HITL capabilities for autonomous air vehicle programs.

You will bridge SITL and HITL environments, develop frameworks, logging, diagnostics and fault-injection tools, and collaborate closely with software, systems, simulation and hardware engineers in a fast-paced, safety-conscious setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering, or similar.
• Ability to own software infrastructure from development through deployment, testing, and maintenance.
• Experience developing automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management processes, and test tooling such as logging, diagnostics, and debug utilities.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with Github.
• Experience developing, operating, and maintaining software frameworks for HITL/HIL/air vehicle test environments.
• Understanding of software/hardware interfaces, networking and electrical bus protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/422/485).
• Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot across software and hardware boundaries.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in US/UK/Australia desirable.
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as Saleae Logic Analyzers, Wireshark, PEAK-System CAN interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the test framework and software infrastructure bridging SITL to HITL testing.
• Develop logging infrastructure and log-processing tooling for HITL testing.
• Develop diagnostics and telemetry for system visibility and troubleshooting.
• Develop fault-injection capabilities for testing under degraded conditions.
• Build automated tests to evaluate system behavior, fault detection, handling, recovery, and graceful degradation.
• Maintain configuration management tracking tools for reproducible HITL configurations.
• Automate HITL health checks, setup, deployment and test execution for repeatability.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for regression testing.
• Establish software and testing best practices for HITL systems in the development lifecycle.
• Support hardware integration and HITL stand-up, including sensors and networking.
• Troubleshoot real-time simulation issues in HITL operations (timing, hardware interfaces, fidelity).
• Collaborate with software, systems, simulation and hardware engineers to resolve issues.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset during prototype and experimental work.
