Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a software-focused engineer for the Maneuver Dominance team at our Costa Mesa HQ to advance autonomous air vehicle programs. You’ll develop the test framework and infrastructure bridging SITL and HITL, build logging and diagnostics, and enable fault-injection and automated testing across hardware and software interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering, or similar.
• Ability to own software infrastructure from development through deployment, testing, and maintenance.
• Experience developing automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and test tooling such as logging, diagnostics, and debug utilities.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with Github.
• Experience developing/testing software for HIL/HITL/Ironbird/Group 4 or 5 UAS, aerospace, or defense vehicle environments.
• Understanding software/hardware interfaces, networking, and electrical bus protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/422/485, MIL-STD-1553).
• Strong debugging skills across software/hardware boundaries.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, LRUs, harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with Saleae Logic, Wireshark, PEAK-System CAN interfaces, or similar tools.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in US/UK/Australia desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SITL to HITL testing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop logging, diagnostics, and debug tooling for system visibility.
• Build fault-injection and automated tests for reliability and degradation handling.
• Support HW/SW integration across HITL environments and test setups.
• Collaborate with software, systems, simulation, and hardware engineers to resolve issues.
• Follow safety practices in prototype environments to prevent harm and improve efficiency.
• Drive configuration management for reproducible HITL configurations.
• Establish software/testing best practices for HITL in development lifecycles.
