Job summary

The Biltmore Company is seeking a Part-time Maintenance Support Staff II to assist with upkeep of Biltmore House and other historic structures on the estate, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, stone cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and light carpentry.

Flex: ~20–29 hours/week; typical schedule Monday–Friday 6am–4:30pm. Requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of maintenance experience; trade certifications preferred for improvements to historic structures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional education, training, or certification preferred.
• At least two years of maintenance experience; three years with historic structures preferred.
• Experience with repair/maintenance for carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems; trade licenses preferred.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; take direction and execute instructions.
• Familiar with operating various equipment, tools, and machinery; valid driver’s license; age 19+; clean record.

Responsibilities

• Repair plumbing systems in Biltmore House and other historic structures.
• Perform basic electrical repairs.
• Carry out basic carpentry tasks.
• Set up and break down Special Projects.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Move collections as required.
