Job summary

Biltmore Estate seeks a Support Services Staff II to perform general maintenance across Biltmore House and other historic structures, including plumbing, electrical, painting, stone cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and light carpentry. Typical hours are Monday–Friday from 6am to 4:30pm, about 20–29 hours per week, with an emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with 2+ years in maintenance preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional education and/or certifications preferred.
• At least two years of maintenance experience; three years preferred, including historic structures.
• Experience with carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems; trade licenses preferred.
• Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team; take direction and follow instructions.
• Ability to operate various equipment, tools, and machinery safely.
• Comfortable assisting guests and responding to inquiries in line with Biltmore standards.
• Must have a valid driver's license, be at least 19, and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Repair plumbing systems in Biltmore House and historic structures.
• Perform basic electrical repairs.
• Carry out basic carpentry tasks.
• Set up and break down Special Projects.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Support moving collections as needed.
