Job summary

The Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC seeks aFacilities Staff to clean interiors and public areas of the estate, including Biltmore House and Antler Hill Village. Typical hours are 3pm–11pm with a requirement to work second shift and varying shifts based on needs.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of custodial/maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, and a valid driver’s license. Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and must be available weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; additional education preferred.
• At least 1 year custodial/janitorial or maintenance experience.
• Attention to detail and commitment to guest service.
• Ability to work second or third shift with weekend/holiday availability.
• Must have valid driver's license and be at least 19 years old.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Dust, mop, wet mop, and buff all floors to standards.
• Vacuum carpets and stairs.
• Change light bulbs inside and outside.
• Clean restrooms with high cleanliness standards.
• Assist with special events and projects like candlelight.
• Respond to power/water outages and assist management.
• Snow removal and storm cleanup.
• Emergency cleanup (bodily fluids).
• Dust offices and gift shops.
• Ensure safety of self, guests, and co-workers.
• Perform duties during 2nd shift as designated by leadership.
• Additional duties and area support as required.
