Job summary

The Biltmore Company is seeking a Part-time Maintenance Support Staff II to assist with upkeep of Biltmore House and other historic structures on the estate, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, stone cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and light carpentry.

Flex: ~20–29 hours/week; typical schedule Monday–Friday 6am–4:30pm. Requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of maintenance experience; trade certifications preferred for improvements to historic structures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional education, training, or certification preferred.
• At least two years of maintenance experience; three years with historic structures preferred.
• Experience with repair/maintenance for carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems; trade licenses preferred.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; take direction and execute instructions.
• Familiar with operating various equipment, tools, and machinery; valid driver’s license; age 19+; clean record.

## Biltmore House Maintenance Support Staff II - FlexApply: Biltmore Estate: Part time: Posted Today: JR103502**Job Description**The starting pay range for this position begins at $17.85/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.Flex: A position working an average of 20-29 hours per week (between 1000 - 1559 hours/year).Support Services Staff IIs perform general maintenance in Biltmore House and other historic structures on Biltmore Estate including, but not limited to: general plumbing, electrical, painting, stone cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and light carpentry.Assisting other departments such as Floral, Museum Services and Housekeeping.Schedule can vary, but is generally Monday-Friday from 6am - 4:30pm.**Requirements:**1. High school diploma. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred.2. At least two (2) years of previous maintenance experience required. The preferred candidate will have three (3) years of experience, including working with historic structures.3. Must have prior experience with repair/maintenance for carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems. Trade certifications and/or licenses are preferred.4. Strong planning, organizational, project and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality.5. Ability to be proactive and take initiative as well as work effectively both individually and as part of a team.6. Ability to take direction and understand and execute instructions successfully.7. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance.2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.3. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and/or scaffolding.4. Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat/kneel.5. Ability to work both inside and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with fluctuations in temperature.
