Job summary

You will perform embedding of surgical, autopsy, and cytology specimens; conduct microtomy and cryotomy at 2–10 microns; execute H&E and special stains; troubleshoot artifacts; and manage slide/block reconciliation while using hospital and laboratory information systems.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of specimen types in a dynamic lab.

Qualifications

• Experience in histology technology with proficiency in routine histology technologist responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform microtomy, cryotomy, and standard staining techniques.
• Familiarity with hospital and laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Embed surgical, autopsy, and cytology specimens.
• Perform microtomy and cryotomy at 2-10 microns.
• Perform routine automated H&E and special staining procedures.
• Troubleshoot common histological artifacts as they arise.
• Carry out slide and block reconciliation practices.
• Utilize both hospital and laboratory information systems as required.
